My Story

From an early age, my parents taught me the importance of perseverance and hard work. When I was 11, I became a working student, and worked all day every day that I could for lessons and rides. It was then that I began riding many different types of horses, from green ponies to my trainers’ show horses. When I was 12, my parents surprised me with my first pony, Honey. When I got her in June, she was 5 years old and could only walk trot. Through consistent effort, we qualified for Pony Finals within six months, and after about a year, Honey was ready to be leased to a younger rider.

Then I got Royal who was originally intended to be my move up jumper. She arrived to us in need of love and care, and we found what we thought was an injury. Over the next ten months, I rehabbed her while I continued riding other horses and developing my skills. While she was off, I had the opportunity to work with a 3 year old project pony. Many told me to give up on Royal, but I remained committed to her until we could ride again. She became my best friend and I quickly realized how much love she has in her heart. Now, I’ve had Royal for a year and a half and we compete successfully at shows. While the journey was anything but easy, Royal taught me what real horsemanship and perseverance is, and made my dreams come true.
